AARD has been associated with mining capital equipment for over 30 years and designs, manufactures, services and supports a wide range of mining equipment, specializing in low-profile underground machines. Our range of equipment includes drill rigs, hydraulic rock drills, bolters, load haul dumpers (LHDs), scalers, and more, for both standard and low underground applications.

 

With around 200 employees, we primarily serve the Southern Africa region, carving out a competitive edge in the bespoke equipment sector.

 

In April 2023, AARD Mining Equipment was acquired by Epiroc, a leading global productivity and sustainability partner for the mining and infrastructure industries. Epiroc is based in Stockholm, Sweden, had revenues of SEK 50 billion in 2022, and has around 18,000 passionate employees supporting and collaborating with customers in around 150 countries.

What we do

The company’s corporate office and manufacturing facility are based in Chamdor on the West Rand, approximately 55km from OR Tambo International Airport. AARD’s comprehensive product range of trackless mobile mining machinery (TM3) is used extensively on more than 30 base metal, precious metal, coal and diamond mines in sub-Sahara Africa. Together, the members of the management team have a vast number of years of experience in the mining industry.
 

AARD’s highly-qualified engineering and technical teams can custom design and build bespoke machines to suit customer’s needs. Modifications and changes to existing equipment, as well as complete or partial rebuilds, can also be undertaken at the factory in Chamdor, Gauteng.
 

AARD continuously undertakes research and development into design and manufacture equipment that meets customer requirements for improving safety and productivity. AARD has teams strategically placed in the field to offer support to clients, service products and provide spare parts.
